Yesterday was our capoeira teacher's last class in Hong Kong before she goes to Brazil for 2 months.
It will be difficult to keep the momentum going with classes led by the more senior students, even though we'll have help in August form graduados of another group, so I expect a few students to disappear.
On the other hand, when the teacher's away it's possible people will feel under a bit less pressure during classes and experiment more, and there's also the deadline of her return in September. Personally I'm aiming to work on some handstand-based things in that time: be able to do a piao de mao, get more control over bananeiras and so on.
Last night's roda was good, with a big turnout for the class. I even executed a au sem mao mid-game which was good even though I slightly stuffed the landing - hooray! I did it without thinking, really, or I don't know what the thought process would have been. "I couldn't do this in practice earlier so let's give it a whirl," possibly.
