Got my first payslip from the new job yesterday (there will be more rejoicing on Friday, when the first money goes into the bank).

I then met Paul and Henry at the SOAS bar, and we were joined by others, including Leo, who's back from Beijing for a few days. The old team name of "The Toothless Simpletons" was revived, and we duly won the SOAS pub quiz. By half a point, if memory serves.

Memory does not serve that well, since we instantly spent our prize money (£38) on beer.

Let's just say 'Nigel Mansell's first team was Lotus' and be done with it.
