I've basically decided to defer my MA, whatever I get. I've been in continuous full-time education for the last eighteen years, and I think I could do with a rest. Also a job.

The parliamentary internship can't be deferred, but that's such a cool deal I'd go for it anyway. The chances of me getting it are slim, but it's such a great placement. Free accomodation in London, living expenses, trips to Brussels and Rome, hobnobbing with MPs, bishops and other influential types. Trips to Brussels and Rome. Free accomodation.

I'd like to get some serious writing done, too. Yeah, yeah, the wannabe novelist. But Fear And Loathing In Beijing simply has to be done, and the ideas I've been having for The Mansion are things I'd like to write some more on, even if I abandon it later.

In gaming news, I'm seriously thinking about approaching Chaosium to do a 1920s Shanghai Guidebook for Call of Cthulhu. I've got some semi-clever ideas for a Chinese spin on the Mythos, involving Kubla Khan, Confucius, Tang poetry and Lu Xun as an occultist.
